How to Make a Negative Effect
1/12/2011, 4:13 pm
If you already know how to do this, then you don't have to read this.
Do you want to know how to do this:
No? Well to bad!
It simple really. Just follow these steps
step1: Pull up a picture to flash. You can use any picture, but I'll just use Luigi because he's awesome!!!
Step 2: Make another layer, and put your animation or picture layer on the bottom and lock it. this will be for you negative frame.
Step 3: on the top layer, make a black square over luigi.
Step 4: turn the square into a movie clip.
Finally: click the square, go over to display and click invert.
And this is what it should look like:
I hope this helps you guys

I didn't like it period. Negative isn't all that great. What I did like was you trying to donate to the spritas some of your knowledge.

Mostly used for chaos control or basically anything that can emphasize a break in time and space.
This could be done in EVERY editting program. The only benefit is that you can tween it in Flash.

This is someone's topic but since you insist.
- Spoiler:
- It's easier to ease sprites that way, and, for example, when a sprite jumps by tween, it looks sooooo wrong.
But by frame by frame, with the experience of spriting, and hopefully you can ease good, the sprite's jump would look realistic. Frame by frame is has become second nature to me.
Look how gay and faggoty that is, and sorry for my bad skewing.
I think THIS looks more natural.
Yeah I made that. Easing isn't perfect, and neither how Sonic projects himself but that looks more better than tweening, in my opinion.
If you look HARD and compare those two, you will see, hmm... maybe a SLIGHT difference. :3.

Sonic is faraway, has no BG, and has the same sprite when falling, and framerate is too low as opposed to the second one that looks like effort was actually placed into it. How the hell can you compare frame by frame and motion tweening with that?Pingboy wrote:This is someone's topic but since you insist.

Here's a motion tweened + eased animation of someone falling that was done in *sets timer* 4 minutos.
- Spoiler:
Frame by frame = takes longer and makes the same crap.
Motion tween = takes shorter and makes the same crap.
The only difference is that your Sonic jump has more sprites ...

With a steel toed boot. the kicker should be from soccer, football, or professional kicker.Pingboy wrote:Yes. A HARD kick at that.
Correct. Tweening isn't meant for sprites mostly other types of animation.narutoall76 wrote:yea FBF is soo better than tweening.depending on the siuation

Tweening DOES however help in some cases, like Vcam or moving a bg, or any facial features or something of the sort.
But other than that, it's pure dog sht.

This is about making a negative effect, if we need to discuss FBF then we should make another thread.
Anywho, the negative effect can be done with a V-Cam if I'm not mistaken...
